Our Facility

The funeral profession, like many American businesses, has a long and proud history of personal services provided by individuals with deep roots in the local community, and a deep commitment to upholding professional standards. It is very important to us not only to serve your current needs, but to build a relationship so that you consider us to be a trusted friend you can count on for help in the future. We are dedicated to our community and are proud of the reputation we have worked so hard to build. When you need us, we’ll be here.

The History of Desert View Memorial Park

Desert View Memorial Park was established in 1978 by two men from the Mt. View Cemetery Corporation, who had a desire to “start a cemetery from scratch—and do it right.” After considering three sites, Mr. William Truscott and Mr. Robert Hinze procured the land in the Hesperia/Victorville community which they believed to be the area with the greatest potential for growth, as well as the choicest location—just off  Interstate 15 with easy frontage-road access.

In June of 1980, as the park became more developed and sales increased, a mobile home was erected on the grounds to serve as an administrative and sales office. It was replaced in 1989 by our present office building.

Today, from what was nothing but sand and tumbleweeds, sits a beautiful and tranquil memorial park with gorgeous facilities and lush green lawns—a literal “oasis in the desert.” We invite you to take a tour of the premises so that you may see for yourself the level of commitment at which our professional staff members serve our families and community.

Desert View Memorial Park is the largest dedicated cemetery in the Victorville community, consisting of 14 developed acres and 38 acres awaiting development to meet the future needs of a growing community. The park offers traditional ground burial (interment), as well as aboveground placement (entombment) in one of our beautiful granite mausoleums. These options are also available to families choosing cremation as a means of final disposition.

Desert View is proud to have responded to the requests and needs of families in three important areas: a Veteran’s Lawn, to honor and commemorate the special sacrifices made by the veterans of our community; the Garden of Remembrance (our cremation garden) for placement of cremated remains, offering a way to memorialize loved ones with dignity, honor and peace, all within a tranquil setting and at an affordable cost; and finally, our second Catholic Lawn, which was dedicated and blessed in 2004. The addition of the Holy Family statue, Our Lady of Guadalupe statue and the Sacred Heart statue give this lawn a sacred feel. In the future, we will be adding a beautiful new cremation garden to this section of the park.

Desert View Funeral Home

Constructed on the tranquil grounds of Desert View Memorial Park, Desert View Funeral Home (originally named Desert View Mortuary) was dedicated in 1997. You will find our beautifully appointed, full-service funeral home, offering everything you need in one convenient place. We are able to provide you with a wide range of services including preplanning, floral arrangements and aftercare, and can even make arrangements for receptions and catering in our Hospitality Room. Visitors are welcomed into the facility in our spacious and comfortable foyer.  The chapel offers seating for 200, and our visitation stateroom offers a casual and comfortable atmosphere for families to visit with guests. You will find beautiful and inspiring works of art throughout the funeral home. This facility, with its many amenities, is overseen by a staff of dedicated funeral service professionals who possess many years of experience caring for the individual needs of those who are grieving.

Desert View Crematory

Completed in 2003, Desert View Crematory is truly state-of-the-art. This facility incorporates the newest technology to achieve rapid cremation with no visible evidence from the outside while the process is occurring. There is also a Witness Room available, for those families wishing to view part or all of the cremation process. Desert View made this area available for your total peace of mind.

The building also houses a permanent disposition niche room, with beveled-glass niches. This affords the opportunity to place photos and other items, along with the urn, to create a unique way of commemorating your loved one’s life. This is designed to be a private area of reflection, and families whose loved ones rest here are given a passkey so that they may visit this secure place any time during normal cemetery hours.

Garden of Eternal Pet Memories at Desert View Memorial Park

In 2009, to once again meet the requests of our community, Desert View developed a separate area within the memorial park known as the Garden of Eternal Pet Memories. Although current law prohibits the placement of humans and animals into the same gravesite, this special and unique area of the memorial park was created and set aside specifically for the purpose of honoring the life and impact a special companion animal has made in its relatively short life. For many of us who love our pets, their death can affect us as much as the death of a relative or friend.

This is why we feel the importance to give back to our beloved animals when they die, by having them at this peaceful, solemn burial location decorated with lush green lawn, colorful flowers and beautiful, bronze statuary. The types of available services and cost options are available upon request.
